_Abu Sa’eed Khudri رضي الله عنه narrates:_

When Rasoolullah صلي الله عليه وسلم once advised the Sahabah not to sit by the roadsides, they submitted that they had no other place to sit together.
Rasoolullah صلي الله عليه وسلم then allowed them to do so, on condition that they fulfilled the rights of the road.

When they asked what these rights were, Rasoolullah صلي الله عليه وسلم explained,

“Lower your gazes,

remove harmful objects from the path,

reply to the greetings of people,

enjoin good and forbid from evil.”
