ضمائر الاستفهام.
Interrogative Pronouns.

وهي ضمائر تأتي في بداية السؤال , وتستخدم للاستفهام عن شخص , مكان , زمان ... الخ وهي كالتالي ..
They're pronouns which come in the beginning of the questions. And it's used for asking about someone, somewhere, and the time... etc, as follows...

- *who* من
ضمير استفهام , يستخدم للسؤال عن الشخص العاقل , كما في الامثلة التالية ...
It's used to ask about someone is sane, as in the following examples...

من تكون تلك السيدة ؟
*Who* is that lady?

من يستطيع ان يجيب على هذا السؤال ؟
*Who* can answer this question?

*Who* saw you?  من راك ؟

- *whom* من
ضمير استفهام , يستخدم للسؤال عن الشخص العاقل ,  و نستخدم (who) بكثره بدلاً عنه , كما في الامثلة التالية ...
It's used to ask about someone is sane. And we use *who* instead *whom* as in the following examples...

لمن انا اتحدث ؟
To *whom* am I speaking?

عن من انت تتكلم ؟
About *whom* are you talking?

من انت رأيت ؟
*whom* did you see?

- *what* ما / ماذا
ضمير استفهام يستخدم للسؤال عن الاشياء مثل الاسماء ,الانواع , الاصناف ,الحجم , الالوان والاشكال  , كما في الامثلة التالية ...
It's used to ask about things. Like nouns, types, Items, size, colors, and shapes. As in the following examples...

ماشكل الارض؟
*What* shape is the earth?

اي نوع من الرجال هو ؟
*What* sort of a man is he?

*What* is your name? مااسمك ؟

*What* happened? ماذا حدث ؟
ماهو تاريخ اليوم ؟
*What* date is it today?

ماهو الحجم , اللون , الشكل ... الخ الذي تريد؟
*What* size ( colour , shape..etc) do you want?

- وكذلك نستخدم (what) في تكوين صيغة التعجب , كما في الامثلة التالية ...
- Also, we use *what* to form the exclamation formula, as in the following examples...

ياله من صباح جميل!
*What* a beautiful morning!

ياله من يوم جميل!
What a lovely day!

مااجمل عيون ماري!
What wonderful eyes Mary has!

ياله من حظ سيىء!
What bad luck!

يالها من فتاة ذكية استثنائية!
What an unusually clever girl!

- *which* أي
ضمير استفهام , يستخدم للاختيار من بين مجموعة احتمالات معروفه ومحدده , مثل ...

It's used to choose between possibilities' group are  known and specific, such as ...

اي لون انت تفضل ؟ اللون الاحمر او اللون الازرق
*Which* colour do you prefer – the red one or the blue one?

ايهما اطول توم او ديك ؟
*Which* is the taller, Tom or Dick?

اي كلب هو كلبك ؟
*Which* dog is yours?

- *where* اين
ضمير استفهام , يستخدم للسؤال عن المكان , بمعنى  كما في الامثلة التالية ..
It's used to ask about the place, as in the following examples ...

من اي بلد انت ؟
*Where* are you from?

من اين تشتري الخبز ؟
Where do you buy bread?

اين قابلت علي ؟
Where did you meet Ali?

- *whose* لمن
ضمير استفهام , يستعمل للسؤال عن المالك , كما في الامثلة التالية ...
It's used to ask about the owner, as in the following examples ...

لمن هذه السيارة؟
*Whose* car is it?

سيارة من انت استعرت ؟
*Whose* car did you borrow?

لمن هذه القفازات ؟
*Whose* are these gloves?

لمن هذه المظلة ؟
*Whose* is this umbrella?

- يجب على المتعلم ان لا يخلط بين لفظ (whose) و (who’s) التي تعني (who is) كما في الامثلة التالية ...
- The learner shouldn't confuse in the pronunciation of *whose* and *who*which means *who is* as in the following examples...

*Who’s* he?    من هو ؟

ابن من هو ؟
*Whose* son is he?
